How much is tuition?
No matter the course you choose, whether its Directing, Producing,
Screenwriting, Editing, Camera, etc. Film Connection's tuition is
$7750, which covers all course, tuition and related fees.
The only exception is our Acting Program is $8450. Tuition prices
are subject to change without notice.
Are there any scholarships or
other
financial aid options

How long have you been in
business?
The
Film Connection is celebrating its 25th year of offering its unique and
proprietary mentor/apprentice model of educations and job training to
aspiring filmmakers, directors, producers, editors, writers, camera
operators and other associated careers in film.
How long does the course take?
The average film school alternative course length is six months,
depending upon
your
schedule.
Where is your campus?
We are not a traditional school, we have no campus. With Film
Connection, your campus is at a real film set or film or video
production facility
located
close to your home.
Are you accredited?
Yes, by the NPSAA (National Private
School Accredidation Alliance), which recognizes our Film School
Alternative as a fully accredited certificate program.
Do you help with job placement?
Yes. from day one we will try and find you paid work. We have a
full time job placement coordinator that will try and find you
work. Many of our students have found that paid work was offered
to them even before they graduated. This service is available to
all graduates for up to a year after the complete the program.
How many students are in a class?
Usually it is just you and your mentor. In some markets classes
could be as large as 3 students to 1 instructor.

How much experience do I need?
No experience is needed for any of the programs that we offer.
How do you compare with traditional
film schools?
Very well--unlike regular film schools, our teachers (we call them
mentors) are real
working professionals, currently working in the film or video
business. They are professionals that make their living from the
film or video business NOW, TODAY, even as they are
instructing you. They open up their place of business (their
production company) to you and you use it as your classroom.
How long has Film Connection been in
business?
25 years and counting. Our corporate offices are located on the
world famous corner of Hollywood and Vine, in the heart of Hollywood,
California at 6253 Hollywood Blvd.
What kind of course materials and/or
software do I need/have to buy?
NONE. Everything you need is included in the cost of our classes.
We will either buy or provide you with all necessary course materials
and software.
If I have to move, can I transfer
to a different mentor in my new city?
In many cases we are happy to transfer you to a new mentor as long as
there are no excessive truancies and/or missed classes. Amount of
lessons completed is also a factor, but yes we will transfer you if it
is viable.
Are there any age requirements?
Ordinarily, you must be at least 18 years of age to enroll, but some
students are accepted with parental approval that are under 18.
How
flexible is the scheduling? I
have a job so can I attend Film Connection around my schedule?
Our film course scheduling is very flexible. We wil try to work around
your
full or part time job schedule. Classes are also available nights and
weekends. However, you will find the more time you can put into
our course, the more you will get back from it.
What are some reasons I might not be accepted into Film
Connection?
We base our decision to accept, or not accept, students based solely on
what we perceive your work ethic, drive, and motivation to be
successful. Nothing
else.
What kind of credentials or
accreditations do you have?

The
Film Connection
Film School Alternative is fully accredited by the National Private
School
Accreditation Alliance. With over 20 years of training film students
one-on-one through Film Connection's original mentor-apprentice
program, we firmly believe we offer the best approach for students
looking to break into the film business. We welcome your interest and
